Kentucky HB2 May Make Center for
Renewable Energy Research part of Governor's Office of Energy
Policy
Last year, HB1 called for the establishment
of a "Center for Renewable Energy Research and Environmental
Stewardship." KREC
supported the establishment of this Center, and made it a
central part of the Consortium's 25x'25 Roadmap Recommendations,
found within this year's Legislative Prospectus.
Recently, as part of this session's HB2,
that Center has been "attached to the Governor's Office of
Energy Policy for administrative purposes."
HB2 - HCS - Retain the original provisions;
make technical corrections; create a new section of KRS 152.710
to 152.725 to create a Center for Renewable Energy Research and
Environmental Stewardship, attached to Governor's Office of
Energy Policy for administrative purposes; establish duties of
the center; create a governing board of directors, designate
membership and term of service; establish the duties of the
board. For the entire bill, visit
