Commonwealth Agri-Energy LLC

Commonwealth Agri-Energy LLC is a 100% farmer owned ethanol production facility located in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. Ethanol production began on February 18, 2004. After an expansion in 2006, the plant producers 33 million gallons of ethanol from about 12 million bushels of corn.

The facility also collects the 110 thousand pounds of CO₂ produced from the fermentation process and utilizes it for dry ice production. The leftover grain solids from the distilling process are sold as a high-protein livestock feed. 110 thousand pounds of distillers grains are produced each year.
