Kenton
County Airport Board
The Kenton County Airport
Board oversees operations
of the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG).
CVG's Commitment to Air Quality
- Just as better highways reduce congestion and auto
emissions, better airfields can help decrease the amount of
fuel burned by aircraft. We have built one of the most
efficient airfields — saving time and money for both
passengers and airlines, and reducing aircraft emissions in
the process.

Shuttle buses circling our terminals pose another challenge.
Dozens of buses circle continuously — burning fuel and
releasing hydrocarbons. Our new
transportation center will help
reduce these emissions.
The center will create dedicated space for rental car buses
to park and wait for passengers. In doing so, it will
improve traffic flow, reduce pollution and save fuel.

Alternative Fuels at
CVG
The airport is committed to lowering emissions. They
have begun adding hybrid vehicles to our maintenance fleet. They have
also replaced older boilers with high efficiency units that use less
energy.
By using Biodiesel fuel, they have cut greenhouse gas emissions from
large mowers — no small matter considering the thousands of acres of
grass we cut each year.
