Corn Growers Association
Member since 1998
The Kentucky Corn Growers
Association (KyCGA) is a trade organization representing the
interests of more than 2,000 corn producers across the Commonwealth.
One of KyCGA's long-term initiatives is to promote and advance the
corn-based ethanol industry, as it represents a substantial and
growing market for Kentucky corn.
In the late 90s, KyCGA advanced
the developing infrastructure for E85 use in the state, providing
support for the first public E85 fueling stations as well as private
flexible-fuel vehicle (FFV) fleets and refueling for state
governments and institutions.
In 2004, KyCGA invested $1
million the Hopkinsville, KY, grower-owned ethanol production plant,
Commonwealth Agri-Energy LLC. The investment gave the organization
6% ownership in the plant.
Today, KyCGA continues to
support and implement ethanol education campaigns and lobbies for
corn-based ethanol friendly legislation.

NASCAR, Ethanol and Kentucky's Corn
Farmers
The Kentucky Corn Growers Association took
part in the first race of the NASCAR season, the Daytona 500, to
celebrate the racing league giant's move to E15 (15% ethanol) in all
its race cars. American Ethanol is a promotional partnership between
the National Corn Growers Assn and Growth Energy.
Kentucky Corn Grower staff Jennifer
Elwell and Laura Knoth attend the Daytona 500 to see how the
American Ethanol partnership works to promote the clean,
domestic fuel to NASCAR's 75 million fans. |

NASCAR driver Clint Bowyer, No. 33, is
sponsored by American Ethanol and will serve as a spokesman
for the fuel. In addition, all race cars will feature
"American Ethanol" around the fuel doors. The car below
belongs to NASCAR driver Kenny Wallace, who also is
sponsored by American Ethanol, as well as state corn grower
associations. He has been very vocal about the benefits of
E15.

Corn Growers Support Unprecedented National Campaign to
Expand Renewable Fuel Infrastructure
Eastwood,
KY
(August 11, 2009) – Consumers can enjoy more choices at the pump, gas
station owners can experience product flexibility, and the nation
can achieve its renewable fuels targets – all thanks to the blender
pump and the wider distribution of E85 and mid-range ethanol blends.
An unprecedented new campaign is underway between leading
corn-producing states, the American Coalition for Ethanol, and the
Renewable Fuels Association, with the goal of installing 5,000
blender pumps nationwide over the next three years.
The Kentucky Corn Growers Association (KyCGA) provided funding for the
campaign in order to support expansion of the ethanol fuel market.
