Electric Shuttles are Delivered
to Louisville Zoo
Louisville (March 6, 2002)... This week Cunningham Utility and Electric Car Company delivered three new 48
Volt Columbia 6 passenger "shuttles" to Louisville Zoo. These vehicles are
powered by a revolutionary new concept in DC electric motors, the ACE Electromotive Power system.
This new DC motor uses a permanent magnet motor which requires no power to excite, resulting in 15% or greater efficiency over traditional DC motors. The ACE motor system also has 60% less components than prior 48 Volt drive systems, meaning less mechanical parts to fail.
The system delivers greater distance on a charge than ever before. In a recent test of the ACE system in Arizona, the ACE system went 110 miles on a single charge.
Congratulations to the Louisville Zoo for selecting this new high efficiency, clean fuel product for its low speed people moving needs on the Zoo property.
