Alternative Fuels


Several organizations and governments are joining forces to help drivers travel the entire length of I-65, and be no more than a quarter tank from the nearest E85 pump. The project will make I-65 a true national BioFuels corridor.

  • 886 miles of BioFuels availability from Gary, Ind. to Mobile, Ala.

  • 31 E85 and 5 B20 stations are funded through the project in four states.

This 16-page booklet features pictures and specs of mowers powered by electricity, natural gas, and propane and includes information about using biodiesel in mowers or converting mowers to run on alternative fuels. A Special Considerations section on page 14 also lists cautions to consider when using alternative fuels in mowers.

This document is helpful for organizations that are already using alternative fuels in their vehicles and have an alternative fuel supply or electric charging in place and can encourage organizations to try alternative fuels in on-road vehicles in addition to their lawn equipment.
